- Avoid smoking for 3 days, for better and faster healing of soft and hard tissues.
- Apply ice to the site of surgery for 2-3 hours only on the first day of surgery, without direct skin contact (put on a towel), hold it for 10 minutes and take it away for another 10. This will reduce edema (swelling).
- Avoid hot and lukewarm foods and liquids for 24 hours
- Avoid eating at the site of surgery for at least 3 days
- Avoid exercise and heavy work for at least 48 hours
- You will be given a special toothbrush with which you can wash the site of the operation fearlessly for the next few days.
- Wash with saline 3 times a day for 3 days (a small glass of water with a teaspoon of salt).
- You will be given a special chlorhexidine mouthwash recipe to use for washing.
- You will be given a special chlorhexidine gel which you will be able to place at the end of the surgery.
- Minor bleeding is normal in the early hours.
- You do not have to rinse your mouth constantly because it does not allow the wound to heal.
- In case of severe bleeding after 48 hours contact us for instructions, or go to the doctor for a checkup.
- Be careful not to bite your lips as long as the anesthesia lasts.
- At night try to sleep later than the usual, and sleep with your head slightly raised
- Pain and discomfort are likely to exist. And it’s perfectly normal
- You may have a fever.

Guidelines for sinus lift elevation, with or without implant placement
- Avoid smoking for at least 7 days, for the best and fastest healing of the soft and hard tissues.
- Do not blow your nose.
- Try not to sneeze and in general as much as possible not to inhale or exhale with force, for at least 2 weeks.
- If your nose runs, clean it with a tissue.
- Avoid drinking liquids through a straw.
- Avoid air travel for at least 2 weeks after surgery.
- Bleeding from your nose a few days after surgery is normal, if you see heavy and continuous bleeding for a few days contact your doctor.
- Place ice on the operation area for 2-3 hours only on the first day of the operation, without direct contact with the skin (wrap a towel), keep it for 10 minutes and leave it for 10. This way the swelling will be reduced.
- Avoid hot food and liquids for 7 days.
- Avoid eating at the surgery site for at least 7 days.
- Avoid sports and heavy work for at least 2 weeks.
- You should not brush the operation area for at least 1 week.
- Wash with salt water 3 times a day for 3 days (a small glass of water with a teaspoon of salt).
- You will be given a prescription for a special chlorhexidine mouthwash to use for rinsing your mouth.
- You will be given a special chlorhexidine gel which you will be able to place on the site of the operation 3 times per day.
- If you have a brace or any other type of removable prosthesis, you should avoid wearing it for at least 2 weeks and after consultation with your dentist.

- You do not need to constantly rinse your mouth because it does not allow the wound to heal.
- In case of heavy bleeding after 48 hours, contact us for instructions, or stop by the doctor’s office to have a check-up.
