Galani Dental Clinic can heal your tooth and place your permanent dental crown in just one day!
At Galani Dental Clinic we can create your new dental crown with the digital technology CEREC (Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction) while you wait in the waiting room or take a walk in the shops. Using the CEREC milling machine, we can use digital images of your tooth to cut your dental crown or dental bridge in just 3 days rather than a week which was the regular standard of placement and with no necessary intermediate visits to the dentist.
With the CEREC dental crown, you do not have to worry about many visits to the dentist, wearing temporary prosthesis or waiting your permanent prosthesis for weeks. At Galani Dental Clinic, CEREC prosthesis fit perfectly, maintain and strengthen the structure of the teeth and remain durable.
What is CEREC®?
In short, the cost-effective restorations of Esthetic Ceramic or CEREC® are a new, state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations. CEREC® uses computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided design (CAM) to provide one-day rehabilitation for patients. This new technology has revolutionized ceramic restorations, such as ceramic crowns and veneers for patients, so that there is no longer a wait between preparing for restoration and receiving the final restoration. With CEREC®, the technology is used while sitting in the dental chair, which is so economical for you and your dentist. The restorations that are created are without metals and to restore your tooth to its natural beauty, strength and function. With CEREC® CAD-CAM technology, these ceramic restorations can be done in just 3 days at the dentist. It is perfect for patients that are on vacations or business trips to Athens and they need immediate dental treatment.

The CEREC® process
CEREC® uses CAD-CAM technology to design and process customized restorations during a visit to the dentist. So how does this process work?
Examination and preparation
Before you begin, your dentist will determine if CEREC® is right for you. Depending on the healthy structure of the remaining teeth, it may be a simple filling or you may need a dental crown. After considering your options, the dentist will begin the procedure by administering anesthetic and preparing your tooth for restoration by removing the wear and weakened tooth tissue.
Digital Optical Imprint
To make the desired restoration, a 3D image of the tooth must be created that must be restored by a digital camera scan of the tooth. This 3D image will be used to create the restoration without having to get a dirty impression. This means that there is no imprint that often causes gag reflex. The CEREC® 3D computer and software then converts the digital image into a 3D virtual model of the prepared tooth.
Milling Machine
This device is used to create the custom restoration required for the tooth. Based on the original color of your tooth, the dentist can choose the right colored ceramic block and in a few minutes, the cutting device can create the required restoration.
Placing the Restoration
Once restored, it is ready to be tested to ensure it fits properly. When it is ready, the restoration is polished and placed in the right position by your dentist. Therefore, no temporary restoration is required and no return trip is required, saving time and money.
