STOMATOLOGICAL EXAMINATION

The dilemma

It is well known that a dentist is not the most beloved doctor in the world. Many are afraid of him, others do not have the time and others do not have the money. Every person can be in one or more categories.

But the result is the same. The patient doesn’t go to the dentist for a checkup.

Most people in any of the above 3 categories will wait to have pain or when they have a particular problem and the will go to the dentist. But then the situation has moved on and more than 1 appointment and more money will be needed, to sum up people will let the problem get to the point of failure and then have to spend more time, more money and deal with their fear of the dentist for more than one time.

In sort the damage has been tripled.

The solution

It is obvious, that in order to be successful in all three categories mentioned above, the patient should visit the dentist to re-examine and maintain their oral hygiene according to the recommendations and treatment plan recommended by their personal dentist.

Oral re-checking should usually be done at least 2 times a year. However, if the dentist deems it necessary, the frequency of rechecking may be increased or decreased as needed for each patient.

The process

At oral re-examination we consider and appreciate:

  • The general picture of the mouth and the level of oral hygiene.
  • Teeth to which we must give immediate priority for treatment.
  • Older restorations that may be worn and need replacement (even for aesthetic issues).
  • The condition of the scars and mucous membranes, especially in nodular patients.
  • Evidence that will show us that the patient is grinding and clenching his teeth.
  • If necessary, x-rays, photographs and fingerprints will be obtained.

Upon completion of the oral examination, the patient will be informed of the state of their oral hygiene, and treatment can be planned with the cooperation and approval of the patient.

In this way they can be found in the oral cavity:

  • Small carcinomas in the mouth
  • Swelling in the mouth
  • Thrush
  • Lipids
  • Traumatic fibrosis
  • Mouth sores
  • Swelling in the gums

The result

If the treatment plan is followed, the benefit will be mainly for the patient.

The benefit is: less time at the dentist, which in turn means less fear and money. And most importantly it will have good oral hygiene, which is our goal.
